Unique in its approach to learning and creative expression, the ceramics program at Teachers College/ Columbia University embraces a philosophy that encourages diversity in age, professional experience and the life long importance of education. It is a ceramics program with a long history dating back to the Arts & Crafts Movement of the late 19th and early 20th C.
Our students experience ceramics through the lens of their various interests. Architecture, literature, music and performance, the sciences all form the essence of the creative experience in clay. Training educators to teach in a manner that embraces innovative learning and personal expression is a cornerstone of the student experience at TC/Columbia.
I have selected works offering the diversity of creative expression in our program and am proud of their achievements.
